Job Description

Business Development Manager - Property FinanceRemote position - covering Scotland (the ideal candidate will live within a reasonable commute to either Edinburgh or Glasgow)The Bank:An established, growing, stable and successful challenger bank who focus on business finance in a small number of carefully chosen markets. A specialist bank, staffed by experts who are determined to help UK businesses realise their ambitions.About the opportunity:The team focus on tailored lending solutions often with complex requirements specialising in residential and mixed-use property investment transactions throughout the UK of up to £25m.The division has strong growth ambitions as they continue to support their broker partners whilst developing and enhancing their proposition.The Role:

  • To identify and develop business opportunities from high value business introducers
  • Business Development covers introducer liaison and management, panel management, trade shows and introducer events
  • To deliver agreed business targets, including provision of a high service level to all Broker accounts

Qualifications / Experience required:
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role for a bank or specialist lender in the UK
  • An established and relevant broker network in Scotland is essential
  • Strong working knowledge of property investment lending
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent, degree education desirable
Key Accountabilities:
  • Contribute to the delivery of the team sales plan for your geographic area in support of delivery of the Banks overall lending plan
  • Deliver agreed application, completion and associated activity targets through provision of face-to-face relationship management support
  • Prepare, maintain and deliver an account management plan for each of the Brokers in your business area
  • Provide clear demonstration of adherence to due diligence with brokers both at initial stages and on an ongoing basis in line with documented procedures
  • Provide feedback to relevant colleagues on any service issues that intermediaries raise to ensure the service proposition is appropriate for the market in which the Bank operates
  • Identify new business opportunities as and when required to ensure panel size is adequate to fulfil the Bank requirements
  • Ensure that all communication to intermediaries is delivered in a timely manner and that any relevant messages are embedded within the Master Broker contacts
  • Ensure that all communications with intermediaries are professional, meet regulatory and conduct risk requirements and that any training that is required is provided as necessary to ensure compliance
  • Reviews with the Lending Manager that all enquiries, whether received by telephone, in writing or made in person, are dealt with promptly and efficiently and in accordance with the Bank’s standards of service. May work on special or urgent mortgage casesas required
  • Deal effectively with queries and complaints in accordance with Bank guidelines and standard of service and also maintains the company’s compliance standards and own compliance training
  • Promotes the Bank in the UK through attendance at outside events and promotions
  • Operate Key Performance Indicators with the Banks Master Brokers within your geographic area to support the delivery of the Banks business plan
  • Collaboration: Working effectively individually and as a team with the various functions of the division to enable them to carry out their duties and operations
