Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Roofing and WaterproofingJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Roofing and WaterproofingIndustry Sector: Roofing, seamless waterproofing, cold applied, liquid systems, polyurethane, PMMA, refurbishment, new build, roofing merchants and builders merchants Area to be covered: Scotland down to Carlisle and Newcastle - ideally based central beltRemuneration: £35,000 Neg. Basic £50,000-£60,000 OTEBenefits: Fully expensed Car & BenefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager Roofing & Waterproofing systems will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a manufactured and exclusively distributed range of cold applied, liquid waterproofing systems
  • 80% of your time stimulating demand by selling into roofing contractors
  • 20% managing relationships with roofing merchants and builders merchants as all sales go via the distribution channel
  • 75% Account management role, lots of existing business, 25% new business development position
  • Will be an element of some warm leads via roofing merchants and builders merchants
  • Responsible for £500,000 revenue
  • Tasked with achieving £200,000 new business revenue
  • Daily and quarterly reporting
  • Typical order values £5,000-£10,000
  • Circa 50% domestic, 50% commercial/ industrial projects
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Roofing & Waterproofing systems with:
  • Ideally a proven track record of field sales within the roofing industry, ideally flat roofing
  • Open to a non sales background if you know the products from a technical perspective
  • Preferably dealt with roofing contractors
  • Open to distribution +/or merchant sales backgrounds
  • Specific cold applied, waterproofing system knowledge is not essential
  • Knowledge of the construction sector
  • Ability to inspire confidence, develop and sustain relationships with customers including roofing contractors and roofing/ builders merchants
  • Self motivated
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and through reporting
