This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a global financial organisatiomnThis global organisation are looking for 2nd level application Support engineer. The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure the continued availability, effectiveness and accuracy of production systems primarily in support of the business, and to be a point of contact for the escalation of issues affecting the operationsResponsabilities· To provide 2nd level Application support of financial Applications.· You will be required to work with development teams, application management teams, infrastructure teams. Middleware Operations teams and other teams that depend on the platforms. · Engaging with stakeholders.· Work closely with Business, Development, Global Infrastructure and supporting Vendors to facilitate the successful delivery of Change to the Production environment, and minimizing unplanned impact to the business day to day operating procedures. · Need to thoroughly follow ITIL standards of Incident, Change and Problem Management etc.· Should be flexible to work extended UK shift as per business need in rotating shift with other colleaguesPerson Specification· Strong experience in Application support in the Financial Services Industr or similar.· Have Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Global team player, able to work well in a cross-discipline team and alone without micromanagement. Pro-active, thorough and energetic. · The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate in interview a working knowledge of ITIL practices.Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:· OS : Unix, Linux, Windows · Database: SQL Server· Languages: Shell/Perl Scripting, SQL, PLSQL, Knowledge of Java and Middleware interfaces. · Autosys, PGP Encryption/DecryptionDesirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:· Strong UNIX Shell/PERL scripting and SQL skill set. Many of the queries will be against scripting and database data.· Good analytical skills and experience in investigating business queries· The successful candidate must be able to articulate how to escalate issues
