Job Description

Working with a team of engineering experts, no two days will be the same as a Toolmaker for this company.Working within a traditional workshop, with like-minded people who are passionate about engineering quality products, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of machinery, including lathes, milling machines, surface and cylindrical grinders, as well as CNC machines.This role would suit someone with experience and an interest in design and development, as you will be manufacturing tooling from start to finish, working collaboratively on the design and hands on manufacturing of metal components to be used for various practical applications.As a Toolmaker for this company, you will:

  • Take pride in developing quality products.
  • Fault find, maintain and service multi-stage press and form tools.
  • Not be limited or ‘pigeonholed’. You will be able to make use of your knowledge and put all your skills to good use.
  • Work with engineering drawings, accurately manufacturing parts to brief.
  • Identify any design flaws, offering solutions and improvements, supporting and supported by your colleagues in production, as well as the in-house designer.
  • Program and set CNC wire eroders using CAD/CAM
  • Adhere to safe working practices with a focus on efficiency.
To be considered for this Toolmaker role, you MUST have:
  • Considerable solid experience as a Toolmaker and Machinist
  • The technical and practical ability to maintain and service relevant tooling using milling machines/lathes/grinders.
  • The ability to program and operate CNC machines.
  • A relevant Engineering qualification (time served apprenticeship / HNC)
  • Proven dexterity in a manufacturing environment
  • A meticulous attention to detail
  • Some experience with design anddevelopment with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • A passion for problem solving.
  • A good work ethic, demonstrating integrity.
Got all that For bonus points you will:
  • Have design skills using Inventor or similar (SolidWorks etc.)
  • Be qualified to HNC level or above.
The successful Toolmaker will be rewarded with:
  • A competitive salary of £40-42k DOE, with a pay review annually
  • A generous holiday allowance of 25 days + bank holidays from day one.
