Job Description

We are seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across Primary schools in Caerphilly . The schools support learners in both Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2 and as a result we are looking for Teaching Assistants in or aroundCaerphilly who are experienced in these rolesAs a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, we can give you the opportunity to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.Overview:

  • Title: Teaching Assistant
  • Pay: £69.20 per day minimum
  • Location:Caerphilly
  • Hours: Ad Hoc, Short Term and Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What youll be doing as a Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting and supervising educational games, sports and craft activities
  • Helping children with their reading
  • Preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with pupils in small groups/ and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
  • Assist pupils at break time with their lunch
  • Engage pupils in the classroom and out of classroom activities
  • Work in accordance to the schools behaviour management policies
The candidate: What youll need to be successful as a Teaching Assistant
  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
