Our clientAs one of the greatest successes in the building materials industry, having previously been known as Armstrong and now Zentia, our business is a true pioneer of ceiling and suspension systems with more than 150 years’ expertise in delivering acoustic ceiling solutions for building interiors. Our aim is to deliver complete ceiling solutions with unsurpassed levels of value, quality and reliability, redefining expectations and reinventing environments, to make every one of our customers’ projects a success. As a recently carved out business, we now comprise two production plants in Team Valley, UK, one for mineral fibre tiles and one for grid, as well as sales teams in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and the Baltic States. This business is well positioned in these markets and highly profitable and will also benefit from significant investment in the coming 3-5 years in order to expand the production capability of both manufacturing sites. The roleAs a complete refresh and significant investment in new product development and innovation, Zentia are keen to appoint a dedicated Product Designer into their existing NPD team. You will support the design and development for the launch of new ceiling systems and solutions. This will include hands on CAD designs both of new products but also updating and modernising existing product designs and supporting documents. Using your creativity and understanding of product design you will look to support the desire to create innovative new products to expand the portfolio of products to enable Zentia to be at the forefront of the industry. In addition to supporting the ongoing development of the standard portfolio you will also product design support to deliver bespoke solutions to meet our client expectations.Working closely throughout the business, you will build relationships with manufacturing to ensure effective design for manufacture but also be able to communicate complex design concepts in a simple and often visual way (3D modelling and potentially rendering) to inspire and delight customers.About youIdeally with a minimum HNC/HND in design, you will ideally have previous experience in producing creative designs using a CAD software (autodesk, inventor etc) and the development of 3D models to enable clients and internal stakeholders to visualise designs. With well developed communication skills, you will demonstrate the ability to build relationships with manufacturing to ensure design concepts can be manufactured efficiently but explain complex design principles throughout the business. You will demonstrate a real passion for creativity and innovative flair, but also understand the need for detailed and effective CAD designs to launch new products into the portfolio. Previous experience in building product design isnt essential but the desire to create new products to delight customers.Whether you are an experienced Product Designer with previous experience in creating new ideas and concepts or a Graduate Product Designer with some placement experience and the energy and passion to develop this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.
