Job Description

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOUWestray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit Maintenance Shift Engineers for our client based in the Gateshead area. The successful candidates will be Time Served and have experience conducting maintenance within fast paced, high volume production environments.This role involves not only reacting to breakdowns, but also delivering planned preventative measures and root cause analysis to eradicate breakdowns.THE ROLE

  • To prioritise maintenance of plant and equipment as necessary to ensure the effective running of the production facility.
  • To take direct responsibility for fault diagnosis, rectification and modification of production plant and machinery.
  • To respond quickly and effectively to plant and machinery breakdowns
  • To read layout, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings.
  • To develop and adhere to the site PPM programme, implementing and recommending improvements
  • To support the successful introduction of new manufacturing equipment and services.
  • To operate panel vision driven equipment.
THE PERSON
  • Understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in CNC machine operations (preferred)
  • Time served and/or completed a recognised mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC)
  • Ability to take responsibility for running of the shift
  • IPAF Certified
  • Essential
  • Elec or mechanical aptitude
  • Basic PLC and drive knowledge
  • knowledge Working with cranes
  • Working with Hydraulics
  • Galv
  • 17th Edition qualified
