Job Description

An Electrical Design Engineer with a good knowledge of Control Systems is needed by a Tyneside Engineering companySalary is to £40K + benefitsWorking within a specialist engineering team your duties will include:

  • Specification of equipment for capital orders & spares upgrades including producing electrical drawings & BOMs;
  • Engineering design for current products and new product developments (hardware and software);
  • Identification and implementation of design improvements;
  • Manufacturing support (machine commissioning);
  • Service support (including the possibility of overseas travel).
The successful applicant will be expected to have the following skills/qualifications:
  • HNC/HND/degree in electrical/electronic engineering incorporating elements of control system theory;
  • 3-5 years experience of control systems hardware and software design, commissioning and support preferably in a machine building environment;
  • Experience of PLCs, safety PLCs HMIs, ac drives and servodrives, industrial networks, current safety and EMC legislation relating to electrical control systems
  • Experience of CODESYS programming would be an advantage
  • familiarity with CE requirements and safety of machinery standards (BSEN60204/13849/62061) would be advantageous;
  • Experience using CAD packages to produce schematic diagrams, control panel layouts, assembly diagrams, terminal layouts, etc.;
  • Project management experience.
