Job Description

An Electrical Design Engineer is needed to join a busy engineering design team working on specialist capital equipment.Working on multiple design projects you will be responsible for the specification of equipment for capital orders & spares upgrades including producing electrical drawings & BOMs, engineering design for current products and new product developments (hardwareand software) and the identification and implementation of design improvements. You will also support the manufacturing, commissioning and service engineering teams when needed. The successful applicant will be expected to have the following skills/qualifications:To succeed in this role you will need the following qualifications, skills and personal qualities: -

  • HNC/HND/degree in Electrical & Electronic engineering incorporating elements of control system theory
  • Experience of control systems hardware and software design, commissioning and support preferably in a machine building environment;
  • Experience of PLCs, safety PLCs HMIs, ac drives and servodrives, industrial networks, current safety and EMC legislation relating to electrical control systems;
  • Experience of CODESYS programming;
  • Familiarity with CE requirements and safety of machinery standards (BSEN60204/13849/62061) would be advantageous;
  • Experience using CAD packages to produce schematic diagrams, control panel layouts, assembly diagrams, terminal layouts, etc.;
  • Project management experience.
