Job Description

Central Employment are working in partnership with a leading online retailer based in Gateshead, as they look to appoint an eCommerce Trading Executive to work alongside their wider Marketing and Development team.Purpose of the eCommerce Trading Executive:Reporting to the Ecommerce Director, the successful candidate will be instrumental in the development and maintenance of the product catalogue and the ongoing increase in the conversion rate and revenue of the portfolio of stores. There’ll also be opportunitiesto assist with high-level, high-return projects to help grow the four stores.The role would be best suited to a technically minded individual who is a self-starter and able to manage their own workload with direction from the Ecommerce Director.Key responsibilities of the eCommerce Trading Executive:

  • Take ownership of the product catalogue ensuring information is kept up to date, and new products are uploaded accurately and efficiently
  • Working with the Marketing Team and using data to enhance product merchandising, search engine optimisation and on-site
  • Support the Ecommerce Director by contributing to the overall ecommerce strategy and assisting with implementing new projects and initiatives.
  • Increasing sales through Conversion Rate Optimisation and A/B Testing
  • Acting upon and responding to service desk requests for product information changes and website issues.
  • Identifying and resolving problems with the stores.
  • Continuous testing of the websites to ensure a frictionless customer experience
  • Regular auditing and maintenance of the stores to ensure high performance and conversion
  • Analyse data from Google Analytics and 1st party sources to assist with decision-making and problem-solving
  • Competitor research
Experience required:
  • Previous experience managing an ecommerce website is essential including use of the ecommerce platform (Magento, Shopify, Bigcommerce, Aero commerce, Visualsoft, etc…)
  • Circa 2+ years experience in a similar eCommerce delivery role
  • An understanding of how on-site content affects Search Engine Optimisation.
  • Great Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Ability to analyse data and provide insightful recommendations
