An ideal position for someone looking at coming into a company with a great culture who is able to bring theirexperience and knowledge to really make the role their own.THE ROLEThis is a permanent position working within the fast-paced customer support environment alongside the external sales team. A key role within the business and an exciting opportunity for candidates to get involved in all aspects of the company’s customercycle. Duties will entail:
  • Working effectively with the external sales team and customers to produce accurate quotations that match their needs
  • Upload and maintain the CRM database with customer contact details, completing project and quotation information for all projects received directly into the sales e-mail inbox
  • Prioritise workload and effectively manage the sales email inbox, making sure that customer requests for both quotations and all order communications are handled in a timely and professional manner
  • Accurately input sales orders on to the system, ensuring that the details match the customer quotation and purchase order
  • Regularly review the sales order book and ensure that expected invoice dates are accurate
  • Ensure regular communication with production, warehouse and transport teams in order to maintain high customer service levels and accurate communication with customers
  • Develop positive working relationships with internal sales teams and manage any enquiries from them and customers, via email and telephone in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the Finance function at Gateshead head office about invoice and order queries and support this process as necessary to resolve any issues positively and efficiently
  • Manage and maintain accurate order and quotation logs
  • Ensure business costs are considered when performing the role, so that operations are cost effective at all times
THE PERSON To be considered for this position you must have:
  • Very strong communication skills with ability to deal with both internal and external customers
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and share knowledge and learn new skills
  • Desire to learn how the business works and to understand how this role contributes to business performance
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with internal colleagues across the business and UK sites
  • Results orientated and committed to providing the highest levels of customer service at all times
  • Good IT skills, competent in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), as well as a good understanding of ERP systems
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrates a keenness to learn about the technical aspects of the role
  • Tactful and diplomatic when dealing with difficult situations, both with internal and external customers
