MTrec’s New Opportunity;MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious engineering/manufacturing client, based in Gateshead, by recruiting a Permanent CNC Machinist to join their growing team. A successful candidate will be responsible for operating setting and programmingvarious CNC machines for Milling and Turning operations. If you are an experienced CNC Machinist with a background in engineering/manufacturing, apply now for an immediate response!Job You’ll Do;
  • Reading drawings in imperial and metric sizes.
  • Understanding tolerances, geometric tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, plug gauges, screw plugs and ring gauges.
  • Ability to run a range of CNC turning/milling machines with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Heidenhain and Hitachi Seiki Control.
  • Be familiar with selecting the correct turning insert styles and grades for a range of materials.
  • Be familiar with cutting a wide range of materials including Non Ferrous, Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel and Titanium.
Any of the following;
  • x2 Fanuc millers.
  • x2 Puma turners.
  • x1 Mazak.
About You;
  • Be time served CNC machinist with turning and or milling experience.
  • Experience of working in a CNC Machining / Industrial Engineering environment.
  • Have experience of programming and operating machines to produce product of the required quality standards and specification.
  • Have an understanding of tolerances, geometric tolerances, and surface finishes.
  • Have the ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, plug gauges, screw plugs and ring gauges.
  • Be familiar with a wide range of materials including Non-Ferrous, Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium.
  • Have a can-do attitude and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Be flexible in your approach - willing to work overtime when required to suit customer requirements.
  • Be willing to increase your knowledge and train on other machining processes.
  • Be willing to pass on your knowledge and train others.
