Job Description

Role Introduction The BI lead developer will work across a range of products and solutions to coordinate our Business Intelligence strategy.The role requires an understanding of Business Intelligence concepts and be familiar with design strategies, concepts, joins, data warehousing and metadata. The ability to read/write SQL and have an understanding of databases (Postgres, Oracle and SQLServer)is essential. Good communication skills to work and assist other developers and support staff is seen as essential. Having a background on the building of financial reports with a BI tool, preferably Jasper would be ideal. What you will do

  • Understanding customer requirements and having a drive to achieve them
  • Building Financial Reports and dashboards using BI Tool(s)
  • Building reporting domains and working with metadata to support reporting requirements
  • Develop design strategies and implement views and joins to support the designs you create
  • Create supporting documentation
  • Provide assistance and advice to the BI development team and be a good communicator and team player
What you will have
  • Experience with BI design concepts to support reporting requirements and have the ability to use a range of BI Tools to ensure views, joins and if required warehouse designs are implemented successfully.
  • Starflake schema and snowflake designs.
  • Jaspersoft experience would be preferred but is not essential
  • Ideally have an understanding of the e5/CF application and table joins (a different financial application would also be beneficial)
  • Effective use of metadata
  • Database knowledge, ideally on Postgres, Oracle and SQLServer
  • SQL Skills are essential for this role
  • Installation skills (e.g. databases, products etc.)
  • Good troubleshooting techniques
  • Assisting with support calls and work with requirements in line with identified Business needs
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to support the development team with details and priorities
