Job Description

As part of our ongoing growth plan, we are seeking a driven, motivated and inspirational Assistant Quality Manger to join our site management team.The primary role of the Assistant Quality Manager is to provide professional and effective support to the factory in relation to technical and quality issues. Ensure effective support is provided to the factory team and tasks are completed to the correctstandards.This is a challenging role where the successful candidate has the opportunity to, make a genuine difference to the performance of the business. You will need to be proactive with a strong bias for action, be commercially astute, able to prioritise and communicate,and have oodles of energy to bring to the role. It is essential that you have experience in a similar position and are comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pmSalary up to £33.000 d.o.e. plus benefits.Your key responsibilities as Assistant Quality Manager will include:

  • Implement into all factory areas the standards by which the Company operates and seek to raise them continuously (includes production, goods in, engineering, process)
  • Training of staff against the systems and procedures in place.
  • Attending trials to create product standards in conjunction with NPD and Production Dept.
  • Investigation of Factory non-conformances.
  • Investigation of customer complaints and implementation of corrective and preventative actions based on trending and analysis of data.
  • Working with production to validate all processes and procedures.
  • Document control.
  • Supplier Approval +NCR.
  • Managing the technical indicators, working with laboratory manager.
  • Carrying out internal and hygiene audits in conjunction with the appropriate departmental managers to verify that the factory is complying to all customer codes of practice and BRC standards.
  • Responsibility for pest control across the whole site.
  • Reviewing internal Work Instructions and practices vs. customer codes of practice / BRC requirements to implement and train any required changes.
  • Raising NCRS-helping to investigate when needed and closing them off.
  • Root cause team & data analysis.
  • GMP trending.
Decision making will generally be referred to the Technical Manager however the individual in this role will be responsible for document control, NCRs, Root cause investigation, supplier approval checks, GMP and will be expected to make decisions in theseareas before escalating to the Technical manager if necessary.What we are looking for:
  • Experience of working within a FMCG environment.
  • Ideally, knowledge of customer codes or practice and BRCG requirements.
  • Experience of Quality Management Systems.
  • Degree educated or equivalent in Food Technology.
  • Good communication skills.
