Job Description

Job PurposeThis is a varied role where building relationships with heads of Year 11 in schools and colleges is key to achieving targets whilst maintaining high quality standards. The role involves delivering a range of interactive and engaging presentations and workshopsto upskill and recruit young people to the NCS programme in the West Midlands, specifically Coventry, Solihull, Warwick, Leamington, Rugby and Stratford.Reports toNCS Recruitment Team LeaderLocationHome based potential, with 2 days a week minimum in our Leicester office (LE3 5AG). You will be required to visit schools in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire on a daily basis in peak months of December, through to April and weekly during other schoolterm time.37.5 hours per week - will consider part time applications.Our Values:

Job Summary:This role has responsibility for KPIs linked to the recruitment of young people to the NCS programmes and ensuring high quality events. The role includes an opportunity to run and develop customer retention events and social media campaigns. The role willhelp to ensure young people are supported to take part in the NCS programme. The role has a creative element with an opportunity to expand our engagement with schools through employability and wellbeing workshop design and delivery too.You will be responsible for building relationships with key leaders and teachers in a patch of up to 40 secondary schools to help ensure all young people are aware and are encouraged to sign up to take part in NCS. Engagement targets per school are the keytarget for the role. This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build partnerships with a wide range of people to enthuse them about NCS and the benefits of taking part.You will be responsible for booking and running Skills Booster Workshops on topics including positive mental health, CV top tips, budgeting and many more. An interest in supporting young people to develop life skills is essential for this role.NCS is the UKs largest youth development programme aiming to engage, unite and empower young people, building their confidence so they can go out there and achieve their dreams, no matter what their background is.This position plays a key part in our delivery of high quality NCS programmes and requires a creative approach and determination to achieve success.Main Responsibilities:Recruitment of participants to NCS:
  • Achieve growth of young people participation through targets for each of the schools allocated to you to account lead, and work with colleagues to do the same across the full area, monitored on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Delivering high impact and engaging presentations to a range of audiences including large audiences of 200+ Year 11s.
  • Planning, delivering and developing innovative promotional activities to engage all eligible young people on a tight budget.
  • Working with college staff to create bespoke NCS programmes in the Autumn term, ensuring NCS key values and ethos are met whilst understanding and responding to the college needs.
  • To build rapport with key contacts in schools and colleges, ensuring they are kept up to date with their students engagement and making the most of any opportunities to promote and raise awareness of NCS.
  • Being proactive and innovative when needed to ensure all possibilities are explored including use of Social Media.
  • To ensure diversity targets are met including working with community partners and young people who may have barriers to participation in NCS including Looked After Children, SEN and NEETs.
  • To engage with parents of year 11 students, through the schools and through other networks to ensure they are aware of the NCS opportunity.
  • Planning and implementation of Keep Warm activities alongside colleagues in Leicester.
  • To deliver events in line with NCS branding and quality guidelines.
  • To support the preparation of marketing materials with colleagues.
  • To engage NCS alumni in ambassador work at specific schools and colleges.
  • To support NCS promotion in the press and on social media.
  • To maintain accurate and timely records of communications with schools through our database.
Health & Safety and Safeguarding:
  • To carry out simple risk assessments for recruitment events where appropriate.
  • To follow internal controls and reporting systems to ensure all project deliverables meet the evidence requirements by LEBC management and the NCS Trust.
General:
  • Carry out programme visits during delivery time to ensure consistency and quality is achieved.
  • To contribute at all times to the overall experience of customers and stakeholders to deliver the best possible service.
  • Promotion of NCS and all wider LEBC services to stakeholders including schools and colleges, employers, local councils, community/voluntary organisations, MPs, the media and charities.
  • To follow safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection and quality assurance procedures.
