nature of the role will be:Working alongside partner agencies to ensure there is an effective and increased provision of staffing during key periods; in particular areas of high foot flow including Chester City Centre.To provide advice, support and guidance to members of the public to encourage basic covid safety principles are being observed. To identify areas of non-compliance and to issue advice, support and guidance to businesses and individuals to rectify issues where possible.To report serious breaches for immediate action by the Covid Investigation team.To fully utilise intelligence to focus on hotspot areas/ areas of concern or emerging high covid rates.Anticipate 2 weeks of training then working in pairs they will be out on patrol. These are full time roles but anticipate they will be working the following shift pattern:Wed - Friday - working in an area that the Covid Investigators will be planning to focus working on Saturday/ Sunday. E.G deployment to Ellesmere Port to assist with advice/guidance/ compliance checks. This will be followed up with potential formal enforcement if no improvements made by the weekend.Saturday & Sunday - working wherever there is a business need. Likely to be Chester City Centre doing the same type of work. Patrolling areas focusing on covid compliance, assisting the public, identifying covid intelligence issues. We anticipate these posts would attract people that are new to enforcement. We want enthusiastic individuals willing to learn and looking to get some experience in public facing/ enforcement work.During downtime’ they could be involved in a range of other tasks including supporting the test and trace function which could include checking individuals are self isolating at home and/or checking people that return from amber/red list countries are following legal requirements to remain at home.The teams are also involved in general regulatory work e.g flytipping, littering patrols, business waste. Lots of opportunity to get involved in Regulatory Services work. All posts will run until the end of March 2022. Required skills
