Job Description

Job Title; Transport PlannerSalary; £30,000 per annumShift; Monday to Friday 11:00am - 7:00pmLocation; Derby, DerbyshireOur client based in Coalville is seeking a Transport Operator to assist their busy Transport team. This is an exciting opportunity to forge a career within the Transport industry with an established and progressive company.The Transport Planner Role;

  • Plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met
  • Plan vehicles and time parameters for full efficiency of the vehicles
  • Ensure loads meet safety standards
  • Communicate routes to and liaise with other Depots / Sites
  • Source and plan backloads to avoid vehicle empty running
  • Work within a team of planners and administration staff
  • Ensure vehicle earnings are greater than vehicle costs to achieve a healthy margin
  • Support, comply and ensure complicity with the company’s Quality Policy Document and its objectives of delivering a profitable and unrivalled quality service admired by competitors
Our Ideal Transport Planner Candidate;
  • Proactive and solutions orientated
  • Organised
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Knowledge of Drivers, hours, tacho-graph and WTD legislation
  • Good commercial/ financial awareness
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Previous experience within Distribution or Transport
