Job Description

Secondary English Teacher - January 2024

  • Location: Folkestone
  • Start Date: January 2024
  • Salary: £30,000 to £46,525 (In line with your current pay scale)
Academics are currently working with a large secondary school in Folkestone who are actively seeking to appoint a Teacher of English. This is a full time English role to start January 2024 with the successful application joining a well-established department.In return, you will receive state of the art resources including computer suites, schemes of work and the option to complete the many CPD courses the school is currently offering, both internally and externally. You will be paid in line with the Teacher MainPay Scale - £30,000 to £46,525 (In line with your current pay scale)The school welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers. The ability to also deliver Media Studies would be desirable but not essential.For this role, applicants who apply must:
  • Hold the relevant teaching qualification in English (PGCE with B. Ed or BA Hons) with a Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or Newly Qualified Teaching (NQT) status.
  • Have experience and knowledge of delivering English lessons within the national curriculum and to have a proven track record of working with students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Be able to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities.
  • Have strong behaviour management with excellent subject knowledge.
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or to be prepared to apply for a new DBS via ourselves (DBS Cost Applies).
