Job Description

I am working with a fantastic Aerospace & Defence company who are looking for Repair Stress Engineer to join them. You will be responsible for analysis and validation of metallic and composite structures for static and fatigue strength to support structural repairs according to validated methods. You will ensure adherence to airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelinesRole: Repair Stress EngineerPay: £36.00/hr Ltd or £27.63/hr PAYEContract: Monday- Friday, 35 Hours a week - 12-month contractLocation: FiltonYour primary role will be to provide stress analysis for the repair/acceptance of damaged aircraft structures in addition to performing monitoring/guidance and support to sub-contract suppliers providing structural analysis work.Main responsibilities;

  • Ensure all tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering are correctly planned, monitored and executed to achieve customer time scales.
  • With good customer skills, provide responses for routine repairs queries, giving advice and guidance on repair matters as required within Customer Support processes/procedures.
  • Create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repairs.
  • In conjunction with the Repair Design and F&DT Engineers, be a member of an integrated engineering team, ensuring its strategy, policy and direction is maintained.
    • Qualifications:
  • HNC/HND qualification and minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering environment.
    • Essential Skills
  • Signatory required
  • Static analysis of aircraft structures using a broad range of standard hand and computer methods
  • An understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for static stressing and an ability to develop these methods
  • Ability to liaise/negotiate with Design/Production, Customer Services and risk sharing partners.
  • PC skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Be conversant with the technical requirements for designing repairs
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables and prioritise.
    • Preferred Skills
  • Working knowledge of all Airbus Structures would be a benefit
  • Some knowledge of the application of FE analysis
  • Stress Engineering background, Aircraft preferred.
  • Already holding stress approvals.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability
