Job Description

As an outcome of our renewed strategy, we are looking for an Assistant Director to embed, lead and deliver our ambitions.The roleLeadership, you will lead a large team, of circa 350 people to deliver a customer centric, value for money, property repairs, and maintenance service. Whilst championing our values of Connect, Deliver, Invent and Own, youll be working alongside talented colleagues to create a truly customer focussed culture.Commercial, this role is essential to the preparation and control of large complex annual budgets, ensuring appropriate monitoring of expenditure and compliance with procedures, levels of authority and audit requirements. This opportunitywill involve the delivery of improvement programmes and projects to the agreed financial standards and targets, ensuring customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness.Operational, you will be leading on all strategic and functioning elements of service delivery across localities both residential and non-residential portfolio. Driving business effectiveness and innovative solutions to improve customerservice and efficiency, whilst ensuring and compliance and regulatory standards are met.Experience and knowledge:

  • Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary customer focused team in a large and complex organisation
  • Excellent demonstratable knowledge of programme development and performance improvement in a customer focussed environment
  • Ability to plan, track and forecast income and expenditure against relevant budgets, to deliver a value for money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks to Sovereign
  • Able to analyse business information and formulate metrics that deliver permanent or consolidated progress.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking, commercial acumen and values driven behaviours to fulfil our ambitious corporate
  • Evidence of delivering on innovative concepts, utilising future changes in policy to support flexibility in a responsive organisation
  • Ability to inspire, support and develop others to optimise their performance
  • Have a track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively with others in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Possess strong people skills and an effective communicator, able to influence and challenge
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation with focus on compliance within all activities undertaken by the teams
  • Ability to communicate responsibilities to data users and assure the proper use of data
  • Understanding of data breaches, associated implications and industry standards of preventing/triaging a breach
  • Evidence of excellent customer service achievements in a complex delivery environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office suite with Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
  • Membership of a professional body
