Job Description

Depot Assistant who has previous office administration experience with great customer service, organisational, time-management and communication skills is required to join a busy Depot based in Fenstanton, Cambridgeshire.SALARY: Competitive + Generous Benefits (see below)LOCATION: Fenstanton, CambridgeshireJOB TYPE: 12 Month, Full-Time ContractWORKING HOURS: Annualised Hours, 40 hours per weekAnnualised Hours - a flexible approach to your working pattern and hours will be essential to meet the seasonality of the businessJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Depot Assistant who has previous office administration experience with great customer services, organisational, time-management and communication skills.Working as the Depot Assistant you will carry out a wide range of administrative duties such as processing orders, basic accounting / bookkeeping tasks, and completing documentation and holiday cover for management.As the Depot Assistant you will also deal with loading and unloading deliveries which will require some manual handling and stock control within the warehouse.As a successful candidate you will enjoy the physical work of working within a warehouse / depot environment, whilst keen to take on the administrative tasks and support customers on the trade counter.ABOUT THE COMPANYThe Company is a leading supplier of agronomy advice, seed, crop protection products and precision farming services.   • Carry out all administration in relation to processing orders, ensuring accurate accounting, documentation and according to company processes and procedures
  • Deal with any trade counter’ enquiries and associated cash sales
  • Control stock investment and stock availability
  • Ensure supplies are distributed promptly and efficiently and that all transactions are permissible and within the requirements of Finance, BASIS, Poisons regulations etc.
  • Carry out stock count both in situ and delivered to depot, report discrepancies, give signature only for actual quantities delivered inwards
  • Carry out loading and unloading (physical manual handling) as required
  • Maintenance of internal and external standards for compliance including but not limited to BASIS, Water and Fire Regulations, Health and Safety Executive, and Ministry of Transport inspections, Working Time Regulations
  • Ensure supplies are distributed promptly and efficiently within the requirements of Finance, BASIS, poison regulations etc
  • Maintain appropriate accounting and reporting procedures in relation to all company monies and stock
  • Ensure security of company cash, stock and property
  • Carry out all administration required
  • Provide support and cover the Depot Supervisor during peak seasons and annual leave in people management duties
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIAL
  • Experience working within a depot environment
  • Proven office administration experience with great customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literate and familiar with stock control IT systems
  • Knowledge of local area and appropriate routes
  • Driving licence
DESIRABLE
  • Previous people management experience
  • Experience within the agricultural industry
  • Knowledge of agrochemicals
  • BASIS Storekeeper qualification
  • Forklift truck licence
