Job Description

Established in 1984, Uniserve are the largest British privately owned international freight and logistics company in the UK. Working with an unrivalled network of professional partners across the world, we are experts in all major Global trade markets and specialists in Europe, China, South East Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent.We are currently seeking a HR Business Partner to work closely with the Group HR Director, business leaders and line managers, to build their people capability, plan and manage talent and develop approaches that achieve shared organisational objectives. This role is will service our current Felixstowe-based business units and will be a pivotal role in establishing the new Mega Warehouse, which is due to be finished in April 2021.Responsibilities

  • Working with teams, managers and key stakeholders to help build organisation and people capability, and shape and implement effective people strategies and activities within the Felixstowe Business Units.
  • Developing meaningful relationships with key people in the business units and other people teams in the Group.
  • Offering expertise in all people areas.
  • Dealing with employee relations or Group policy issues in conjunction with the HRD and the central HR services team.
  • Implementing Group Learning & Development initiatives.
  • Dealing with the day-to-day issues of recruitment, absence, discipline and grievance.
  • Ensuring that organisational changes are recorded in an accurate and timely manner on the Companys HR system and central services unit personal electronic files.
  • Acting as a coordinator for Business Leaders, supporting weekly and monthly payrolls in liaison with the Groups payroll provider.
  • Meeting stakeholders/managers/supervisors to discuss people challenges
  • Providing guidance on people practices such as restructures, discipline and grievance
  • Bringing expertise and develops solutions to help the business units deliver their strategy
  • Questioning and challenging others to get to the root of people and business issues
  • Coaching and providing feedback to key stakeholders/managers/supervisors to help improve business efficiency.
  • Essential Skills and Experience
  • Degree level or postgraduate qualifications are desirable, particularly in a relevant field including an MSC degree in HRM.
  • Qualified to at least minimum CIPD level 5.
  • Experience of managing HR for multi-site, multi-function workplaces (preferably within the logistics/warehousing sector)
  • Excellent written skills.
  • IT Literate - Excel and Word are essential
