Job Description

Position: Residential Service ManagerSalary (£): £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience plus 10% annual bonusLocation: Crawley Down, West Sussex, RH10 3EFService: Little Smugglers & Smugglers Barn, Consensus Support ServicesAbout the Service & Role:

Little Smugglers & Smugglers Barn are two residential services supporting up to 9 male and female adult individuals across two buildings, both are which are under one CQC Registered Residential Service.

Little Smugglers is a five-bedroom modern detached house with spacious grounds offering a small, nurturing residential setting. The service provides highly person-centred support for younger adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

Smugglers Barn is a four-bedroom residential service for males with learning disabilities and complex needs, including Asperger’s Syndrome and Prader-Will Syndrome (PWS).

We are looking for an experienced Registered Residential Service Manager from a Learning Disability background.

You will lead and work with a team to efficiently and effectively provide operational and strategic direction, setting clearly defined work objectives for both yourself and others and ensuring these are successfully achieved against agreed timelines and directives.

Work with our extensive team of Regional Operational Managers, Support Directors and Training Team to improve the service.

With the aim of enabling the service users to lead a valued and fulfilling life and to maximise their independence to enable them to achieve their full potential, ensuring that the service is run in an efficient and responsible manner, balancing the achievement of budget with the ethos of excellent quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Effective management of financial performance, ensuring financial resources are appropriately managed & controlled.

Promote quality assurance, working towards legal, clinical, statutory and organisational obligations, to develop effective work strategies and processes, to ensure that the business is run in an efficient and responsible manner, balancing the maximisation of profitability with the ethos of excellent quality.

Balance the level of acceptable risk against the need to protect the health, safety and welfare of all concerned in all decision making. With the aim of enabling the service users to lead a valued, fulfilling life and to maximise their independence to enable them to achieve their full potential.

To actively promote a learning culture, seeking cost effective resources to maximise learning and development opportunities, ensuring that the training compliance levels are met and maintained.

To be the Registered Manager for the service. Must have relevant experience of CQC Registration.

Ensure full and accurate reporting of management information via CMT and the Compliance Report.

About You/Skills & Experience Required:

To join us, you’ll need to have plenty of experience working with those with learning disabilities or complex behaviours, ideally in a management position.

You will have an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Support and training towards Level 4 and 5 is available.

A good knowledge of relevant H&S regulations.

You’ll certainly have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Confident, flexible and efficient, you’re happy to work on a shift basis, and, where required, to be on call.
