Job Description

Transport SupervisorMenzies Distribution are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our DS Smith Featherstone team. Providing a first class service with our team in Wakefield, this role is based on a basic 42 hour week working 4 on 4 off Days 06:00-18:00. Reportingdirectly to the Depot Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing workload within the depot. Youll be required to organise and manage the departure of delivery vehicles to help drivers manage a busy multi-drop schedule.Relevant COVID-19 precautions will be taken during the recruitment process for this roleSupervisorDuties:

  • Organise and manage busy transport operation
  • manage driver and vehicle compliance for the depot
  • Ensure daily briefings and debriefings are carried out
  • Ensure all company systems are used correctly and in accordance with instructions issued
  • Managing the allocation of work, planning motivating and coaching, absence & return to work interviews, conduct and capability issues.
  • Manage the departure of delivery vehicles to help drivers manage a busy multi-drop schedule
  • All contact with customers you should be courteous, professional and efficient
  • Demonstrate a desire to exceed customer expectations and deliver excellent standards of service
  • Develop & maintain relationships with all customers
  • Suggest resolutions or escalate complaints, as appropriate
SupervisorRequirements:
  • Right To Work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Hardworking, positive and flexible attitude to work
  • Knowledge of all Transport Legislation
  • Good PC skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to encourage and influence a team
