We are seeking an experienced and reliable telephonist to join our team of hospital switchboard operators. You will assist in the smooth operation of the hospital by ensuring the provision of a high quality and responsive communications service to our staff, patients and customers. Previous switchboard experience is desirable, preferably in an acute hospital. The candidate should have an excellent telephone manner, be very reliable, able to work under pressure and be flexible in respect of working different shift patterns and ensuring the provision of service during emergency situations when required. We operate windows based consoles and, as such, you will need a knowledge of IT and Windows. The post involves the monitoring of alarms and dealing with emergencies. As a department we operate 24/7, which includes Bank Holidays. The role involves covering for staff who are absent from duties.
