Job Description

Mechanical Design EngineerPermanent £40,000 - £46,000 per annum Great BenefitsHybrid Working Based in Farnborough My client is a market leader in the design and manufacture of specialised detection, monitoring and measuring devices for various industries.Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Mechanical Design and integration with other Design specialities, such as electronic design and software development
  • Performing design reviews with internal and external customers
  • Creating sketches, outline drawings, detail drawings, assembly drawings
  • Design for manufacture ensuring products are safe, reliable, and meet required industry standards
  • Assess design compliance and prepare Technical Construction Files for product compliance verification
  • Design verification and functional testing
  • Generating reports, calculations, test procedures, manuals, and master data within the ERP system (Item data, BOMs, Routes)
  • Participation in Design reviews with internal and external customers
  • Providing peer checks within the design release process (Technical content, Standards, Fit, Form and Function)
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications required
  • Ideally qualified to a minimum degree level in relevant field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong and demonstrable experience of hands on mechanical design and development using 3D CAD software
  • Good and demonstrable knowledge of RoHS and WEEE Compliance
  • Excellent communication skills, time management and organisational skills
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications required
  • 5 years + experience
  • Up-to-date relevant knowledge of engineering and of industry best practice
  • Experience of preparing cost sheets for Sales Enquires
  • Experience in Nuclear and High temperature applications
