Job Description

Desktop Support Engineer, FarnboroughESP Global Services are currently recruiting a Desktop Support Engineer to join our team based at one of our customer sites in Farnborough. There will be an element of travel to the London office.We are a managed service provider for IT support and infrastructure solutions where we support clients, worldwide, 24/7. Working as the Desktop Support Engineer you will provide and maintain continuity of service for all desktop devices (hardware, softwareand connectivity) for the customer and resolve any technical issues that may occur within contractual agreements.We are looking for people who are passionate about technology and increasing their existing knowledge, whilst delivering exceptional customer service.A snapshot of what you will be doing:

  • Respond to customer incidents and service requests and manage through to a successful resolution
  • Deliver desk-side support services to the customer
  • Deliver hard and soft break fix services for laptops and desktops across the site
  • Provide standard and approved hardware and software support and maintenance on desktop devices, Laptops, Printers and Accessories
  • Support, manage and maintain the configuration and installation of desktops, including patch updates and hardware replacements
  • Monitor security profiles and anti-virus software on all Desktop Devices and take appropriate action in the event of non-compliance with security requirements.
What are we looking for
  • One to three (2-5) years providing Desktop Support which includes troubleshooting hardware, software, operating systems
  • Skilled in desk side support and PC break/fix including basic administration of Windows O/S
  • Good knowledge in configuring mail & troubleshooting of Mobile Device Management system (Airwatch / Xenmobile / Mobile iron etc),
  • Understanding on Data backups,
  • Understanding and troubleshooting for VDI, SCCM / LanDesk / Altris,
  • You will be a confident communicator able to engage with all levels of staff
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift / move computer equipment weighing up to 50Lbs.
  • An understanding of network protocols, server hardware and configurations or other IT qualifications
