Job Description

Position: AccountantJob Type: Full Time / PermanentSalary: Competitive salary dependent on experience and qualificationsLocation: Farnborough, UK Report To: DirectorsCompany: ABS IT Services is a Managed Service Provider, with main focus on Hardware, Software Development, Virtualisation, Hosted Servers, Hosted Microsoft products, Telecommunications, DR Solutions, Cyber/Data Security, Website Development and Systems Maintenance. As the Company expands into new markets, an Accountant is needed to manage the daily accounting and forecasting.ABS IT Services’ goal is to be competitive in the marketplace, provide innovative solutions in technologies and services, to delight our customers, and reward our employees and stakeholders in an open and fair environment.Job DescriptionThis list of duties is not exhaustive, the role offers opportunities for the appointed person to develop other skills that the Company can benefit from:

  • Accounts receivable/payables
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Monthly balance sheet account reconciliation
  • Processing of VAT returns
  • Management accounts
  • Annual accounts preparation for processing by the company-chartered accountants
  • Company documentation and procedures
  • Credit card accounting and payment preparation
  • Stock Control within Sage and external to Sage
  • General office administration
  • Payroll entry into Sage
  • Other general accounting tasks including;
  • o Monitor accounts inbox and deal with emailso Supplier correspondence and contacto Customer correspondence and contacto Add products, process purchase orders and purchase invoiceso Process web orders, add products, raise delivery notes and sales invoiceso Process email and ad-hoc orders, add products, raise delivery notes and sales invoiceso Email purchase orders and delivery notes and update in Sageo Email delivery notes and sales invoices and update in Sageo Processing of credit card expenses - receipts preparation for matching using People HR softwareo Entering of credit card expenses into Sage for all company credit cardso Processing of ad-hoc business expenses purchased with Debit cardso Petty Cash - processing of cash expense and adding to sageo Filing across all areas - adding processed documents to the respective files and foldersPersonal AttributesEssential Skills:

  • Proficiencies in job related computer skills including MS Office, Order/Stock Management/SharePoint

  • Full driving licence
  • Qualifications:
  • Degree qualification or equivalent in Accounting & Finance
  • Or AAT qualified
  • Industry qualifications relevant to the appointment
  • Experience:
  • Accounting experience in the UK: Minimum 5 years
  • Must have recent experience in preparing management accounts, VAT returns and financial statements for corporate clients
  • Experience in managing similar business accounts would be beneficial
  • Other:
  • Must be entitled to work in the UK
  • Must have own transport, as public transport is not convenient for the Farnborough airport business parks
  • This opportunity is available as immediate start. However, a delay of up to one month will be acceptable. Required skills
