NXTGEN are working with an established but expanding Accountancy practice who are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their hard working and vibrant North Norfolk office. This is a new role within their Accounts team due to the recent successes of theoffice, having had a number of business wins the firm is investing heavily in this team as its set to continue.As the new Senior Accountant, you will be a key member of the Senior Team supporting on a mixed client portfolio of SMEs and OMBs across a variety of sectors, providing business owners with detailed financial insights on business performance. This willinclude the production of Management Accounts and year end close for larger clients as well as basic bookkeeping tasks for smaller sole traders. The Senior Accountant will also work with business owners on their personal tax queries and self assessment returns.This is a heavily client facing position giving the successful candidate the opportunity to forge excellent client relationships, contributing to further growth and success of the office. As a senior within the team you will also support the ongoing mentoringand development of junior members of the team, whilst working closely with Managers/ Partners on your own development.Key responsibilities of the role will include:- Preparation of client business accounts, providing commentary to support business owners and leaders with key decisions- Manage client work loads, maintaining excellent client relationships at all times - Preparation of tax computations for clients - Support clients with self assessment tax returns - Review work of junior staff to ensure it is to the required standardsThe successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with prior experience working within an accountancy firm. Finalists that are nearing completion of their studies are also encouraged to apply for the role and studysupport is available for those with a few exams left to sit. Prior experience in client facing roles would be significantly advantageous and you will need to be confident presenting financial information to senior external stakeholders and business owners.Experience across both personal tax and accounts preparation is desirable, however training can be provided for the Tax elements of the role if required. A good working knowledge of cloud accounting software is desirable but not essential.
