Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals following the companys policies and procedures.

You will be assisting the senior catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals following the Companys assured safe catering policies and procedures.

Under the direction of the head chef, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for parts of the catering operation.

Take an active role in communicating with service users and staff.

As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the companys policies and procedures.

Working within a busy kitchen environment using a variety of equipment where many routine tasks are repetitive and require a degree of sustained physical effort and concentration;

Ensure all paperwork is filled in correctly i.e. Fridge temperature, Food Temperature log and Cleaning schedule following company policy

Undertake general kitchen duties, putting away deliveries, cleaning, washing up.

Ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with current Guidelines

Maintain a safe working environment.

Partaking in mandatory training.

To be successful in this role, you will:

A good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety in the workplace would be beneficial although full training will be provided.

Working alongside a team.

Creative thinking.

Relevant Catering Qualification.

General Standard of Education.

Basic Food Hygiene Level 2.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

An appreciation of basic food hygiene.
