Job Description

Timeplan Education are a well-established education recruitment company with offices across the UK. Here in Devon, we work with mainstream and special needs schools providing them with flexible support staff.Many of the pupils we support have special education needs including Autism, Aspergers and social, emotional mental health. During the day they will all need either emotional, behavioural, or learning support. Its incredibly rewarding, the pay is competitive,and it works well around studies.The role - Learning Support AssistantHours - 8.30am to 3.30pm - any days between Monday and Friday.Where - central and surrounding ExeterPay - a daily rate of £80 to £85 paid weeklyStart date - ASAPFirst, we would need to go through the clearance process with you - this involves checking documents, gaining references, and processing a DBS certificate. Next, we would speak with you about some of the many part or fulltime roles we have and will arrangefor you to meet the school. Generally, you would be working at the same school for the whole term or academic year.Safeguarding and Behaviour Management Training can be provided, and ongoing professional development will be encouraged.Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Working with individuals or small groups of children in collaboration with teaching staff;
  • Proactively supporting students with activities designed to enhance numeracy and literacy
  • Supporting SEN students in gaining the ability to utilise IT in the classroom
  • Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture
  • Creating sport or creative sessions to engage pupils
  • Working with SEN students to foster their development as independent learners.
