Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary Age PupilsLocation: Outskirts of Exeter, DevonSEN SchoolHours: Full-time, Long-term commitment (Mon 8.40am to 5pm, Tues to Fri 8.40 to 3.20pm)We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at a specialised school catering to secondary age pupils with moderate learning needs. Located on the outskirts of Exeter, the school provides a supportiveand inclusive learning environment for students with communication and interaction difficulties.As an Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualised assistance to pupils, enabling them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. This is a full-time position requiringa long-term commitment.Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one support to pupils with moderate learning needs- Assist in the planning and implementation of differentiated activities and resources- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment- Support pupils in developing their social and emotional skills- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to monitor and assess pupil progress- Assist with behavior management and implement strategies to promote positive behavior- Provide feedback to teachers and contribute to pupil progress reportsRequirements:- A genuine interest in working with children and young people with special educational needs- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with pupils- Commitment to supporting pupils educational and personal development- Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from teaching staff- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of pupilsDesirable Qualifications and Experience:- Relevant experience working with secondary age pupils in an educational setting- Understanding of special educational needs and strategies to support learning- Training or qualifications in relevant areas such as Autism Awareness, Positive Behavior Support, or Makaton (desirable but not essential)We offer a supportive and collaborative working environment where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils.
