Band 5 Therapeutic RadiographerApplications are invited from enthusiastic Therapeutic Radiographers who would like to develop their clinical radiotherapy expertise by joining the highly motivated team at the Exeter Oncology Centre. This post is suitable for both qualified Radiographers and those due to qualify and meet the post holder requirements within the next few months.Exeter Oncology Centre provides a radiotherapy treatment service to a population of 580,000 across North, East and West Devon. We are equipped with three matched Varian linacs which are linked via the Aria Software record and verify system and are all VMAT/IGRT capable. A Varian Eclipse planning system and Toshiba Wide Bore CT scanner comprise the pre-treatment and dosimetry sections of the department. A HDR Brachytherapy service provides treatment for urological, gynaecological, upper GI, lung and skin cancers. Superficial radiotherapy is provided using 100KV SXR.The department has well-established IMRT and IGRT programmes and we also deliver lung SABR treatments. We have introduced radiographer-led breast mark up and treatment review and are actively involved in a broad range of national radiotherapy clinical trials. We have a quality management system which is certificated to the ISO 9001: 2015 standard.The post holder will be required to participate in the day to day provision of safe and accurate external beam treatment activities. They will be involved in the delivery of VMAT, IGRT, fiducial marker matching and DIBH techniques and in the development and implementation of new techniques.
