Job Description

Seven Social Care is looking for a Supervising Contact Worker to fill an exclusive opportunity specialising in the wellbeing of children and families across Devon.The role:Managing court directed family contact across the county, to be supervised by contact manager, skills, excellent communication, confidentiality, flexibility, experience working with children and families, ability to travelKey Responsibilities:

  • 4 Full Time Supervising Contact Workers required. Looking for someone
  • To work flexibly, sometimes at short notice and including evenings and weekends
  • To facilitate safe and meaningful contact between children and their relatives
  • To ensure that contact supervision promotes the welfare and safety of children in care at all times
  • To be aware of Lone Working Policy and procedures
  • To complete accurate, coherent and objective electronic reports within the required timescales on the Councils Social Care database systems. Contact reports will contribute to part of Care Proceedings documents
  • Liaise with and support social work staff and foster carers. To work closely with your Area Team Leader and Social Work staff to ensure positive effective communication of information
  • To negotiate with families in difficult situations to achieve a calm environment within supervised contact settings, including dealing with confrontation in a calm and assertive manner in order to diffuse situations
  • During contacts, promote appropriate care of the child and appropriate play according to the childs age. If they have experience in this role already then that would be beneficial, but would also consider applicants who have transferable skills and workedin a similar setting.
Applicant Requirements:
  • Experience: 2+ years working with children.
  • Compliance:Up to date and DBS and Right to Work.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
