Job Description

We are looking for number of remote Software Engineers / PHP Developers for an extremely exciting and growing technology focused business based in East Devon.You will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of a number of great software solutions for customers, partners and internal teams. These opportunities are outstanding, and we are looking for talented and initiative-taking Full StackSoftware Engineers and Software Developers, individuals who want to apply and grow their technical depth and breadth within a very support business. Your creative ideas and enthusiasm will be a significant contributor to the thriving success of the company, and you will work as part of a supportive and dynamic development team based out of offices located in the Exeter and East Devon area.The roles are being offered as predominately remote with the need to come to the main office a couple of times per month for meetings.All team members are given equal opportunity to express their views on technology choices to enable the business to continue its current growth.Successful candidates will have the ability to investigate, research and solve technical challenges, working closely with decision makers in other departments, identifying, recommending, documenting and implementing high quality, cost-effective technologysolutions for all aspects of the business.The solutions you will develop will have both external and internal impact!To be considered for these development opportunities you required a mixture of the following skills and experience;Essential:

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • MVC Frameworks
  • Linux
  • Website Development
  • Any ecommerce platform knowledge
  • Front-end development with React and/or JavaScript (or similar)
  • Experience using Jira or similar tools to prioritise and track tasks
  • Designing and building data-driven applications
  • Automated testing and continuous delivery
  • Integrating with third party RESTful APIs and systems
  • Knowledge of disparate technologies, from front-end user interfaces through to back-end APIs
  • Experience of building software components and successfully delivering them
  • Communicate effectively with technical colleagues, non-technical users and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features and manage expectations
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design
