Job Description

One of the Southwests leading regional firms are looking to hire an experienced Private Client Lawyer into their already highly successful and busy team. This firm are possibly the market leaders in the Southwest for Private Client work and have a largeteam spread across different locations, having a loyal client base and lots of regular incoming work. The firm is looking to hire someone who can act as a senior member of the team, possibly even working towards becoming an equity partner in the near future,if the candidate is looking for this. The firm have a number of locations across Devon, so hopefully this role will attract people across the county, particularly towards Exeter, Newton Abbot or Torbay. Ideally, the firm are after someone who has a minimumof 5 years experience of fee earning within a Private Client department. The firm are extremely supportive of peoples home lives and have a reputation for being flexible, understanding and good with well-being.Responsibilities include:

  • Will drafting
  • Lifetime IHT and CGT advice for high net worth individuals
  • Advising on and drafting trusts preferably to include Disabled Persons Trusts
  • Offering advice regarding collapsing of trusts
  • Advising clients who have agricultural and/or business assets (or willing to develop)
  • Advising on domicile and related issues
  • Keeping aware of current issues and updates
Skills and experience required:
  • 5+ years experience of working within Private Client law
  • STEP membership is welcome, but not essential
  • Someone who is happy to promote and develop the department externally
