Band 6 Senior Cardiac PhysiologistCardiology DepartmentDIRECTORATE OF MEDICINEROYAL DEVON AND EXETER HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUSTNewly qualified and looking to join our friendly team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation TrustAlready qualified and looking for new opportunitiesWe are a busy department providing a wide range of investigations and are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated and hard working physiologist to join our team.As a newly qualified physiologist you will begin with a 6 month preceptorship programme where you can experience all aspects of Cardiology. Regular meetings with your mentor will help guide you to where you want to be.We offer a comprehensive range of non invasive and invasive investigations including ambulatory monitoring and physiologist led exercise tolerance tests. Our two cardiac catheterisation labs perform cardiac angiography and angioplasty, with a 24 hour Primary PCI service. The echocardiography service also includes TOE, contrast, bubble and stress studies. In our third lab we implant pacemaker, ICD and CRT devices and offer an electrophysiology service which includes complex cases with the use of mapping and Cryo.If newly qualified you will be paid as Band 5 until such time as competencies have been passed allowing you to work independently and join the Primary PCI service. At that time you will proceed to Band 6.The successful applicant will be working in both non invasive and invasive cardiology. As a Band 6 you will be expected to have an excellent knowledge of clinical cardiology with a proven record of working to a high standard.The successful candidate will have completed a BSc (Hons) in clinical physiology or equivalent. They will have RCCP or AHCS registration and hold an ILS or ALS certificate.The department is committed to professional development and is passionate in supporting our staff to develop.
