The Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is a Foundation Trust Hospital based in the historic cathedral city of Exeter in the heart of the South West of England. The Trust has become a partner in the creation of a major Medical School, University of Exeter Medical School (UEMS).Applications are invited for Quality Improvement Fellow, with experience in General Surgery to join our existing team from August 2021 for 12 months in the first instance.The post holder will be expected to run quality improvement projects during the year. There will be opportunities to run other improvement projects and also to be involved in research through the Health Surgical Researches Unit (HeSRU). The post holder would be part of the colorectal unit and supervised by a consultant surgeon with specific time allocated to this.The successful candidate will also take part in the General Surgery on-call rota. There may be occasions where you are asked to work in other General Surgery firms but this this would be with your Consultants approval.This post gives an exciting opportunity to work and to gain experience across the wider General Surgery firms such as Colorectal, Urology and Breast teams by support the regular members of the team during on-call shifts and offers an exciting opportunity to build experience.The successful candidates must have full registration with the General Medical Council.For a full breakdown of the clinical duties please see the job description.
