Join us as a Project Manager in the South West and be responsible for managinga multi-discipline portfolio of construction projects on our strategic network.This role will be responsible for developing and delivering the renewal / improvement programme across all highways asset types in the South West including surfacing, structures, drainage, technology and geotechnical works with a value of projects ranging from£100k to £5 million. You will be responsible for projects at various points in the delivery lifecycle from feasibility through design and construction. You will manage cost, time and quality working to specific deadlines ensuring that technical, customer serviceand performance standards are met.This role will be based at our Exeter (Ash House) office.What youll be leading on A programme of projects, leading project teams through feasibility, detailed design, procurement and construction stages Agree key project milestones, scope, acceptable risks and priorities with key stakeholders, ensuring the appropriate governance is in place to achieve successful deliver Manage the budgets for all projects ensuring effective financial practices are in place and adhered to by the project team Achieve efficiencies, best practice and continuous improvements by ensuring that programmes are optimised through effective collaboration between stakeholders, economical sequencing of delivery activities, and optimal management of resources Ensure all safety processes are in place at start of scheme. During scheme construction seek continuous improvement, encourage near miss reporting from all levels of workforce share lessons learnt and install a culture that everyone goes home at the end ofthe day safely Establish and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and supply chain, ensuring regular checkpoints take place to build trust, update on progress and address any concerns Identify and evaluate emerging risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary develop, agree and implement solutions to overcome these Clarify roles and responsibilities within the project delivery team, creating high quality baseline management products, producing timely and accurate reports, and creating and maintaining specified recordsTo be successful Demonstrable experience of managing a range of projects from feasibility through to completion Clear experience of supply chain contract management and knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM regulations Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the demands of multiple stakeholders and suppliers Demonstrable experience of managing the development and delivery of project plans in conjunction with delivery partners Recognised qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience, in Construction, Civil engineering or Project Management.A bit about usMaking sure our customers have safe and reliable journeys is at the heart of everything we do in Operations.
