An OPPORTUNITY has now arisen to work for a fast expanding express parcels specialist as a DEPOT OPERATIONS MANAGER to join their depot in EXETER.The role reporting into the Depot General Manager will be to run the operation in its entirety including leading and managing all operational aspects of the service centre ensuring the achievement of budgeted and/or targeted service, cost and quality performancemeasures.The depot operates with 45 staff with 30 C&D routes and 30 drivers and 2 trunks in daily. Structure would be General Manager an Operations Manager and 3 shift managers at across the day. Role for an individual not afraid to get his/her hands dirty as it willbe growing a developing site in Exeter.1400 deliveries daily and 1400 collections.The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of all employed colleagues, third party subcontractors and owner drivers. You will manage the premises, equipment and consumables, ensuring the most cost effective and high quality performanceis delivered. The role will drive and lead the change process to deliver a fully integrated service centre operation in conjunction with the General Manager. To apply for the role you must have previous experience working within the EXPRESS PARCELS , PALLET DISTRIBUTION or HAULAGE industry, with a proven record of delivering great service to customers and managing on-going customer relationships. Other experience required is experience of managing a diverse workforce including sub-contractors, self-employed drivers and PAYE drivers. Experience of managing a direct cost budget and the ability to use Microsoft XP (Excel, Word, Email, Access, Power Point)or similar database.Other transport related industry experience such as Pallets, Sameday Transport and General Transport/Distribution will also be considered. Ideally all applicants will also hold a current CPC National, be a good operator and willing to work hard and put thehours in.
