Job Description

Managing Director - AutomotiveThe Company: Would you like to achieve the following in your career:

Our client is a manufacturer of fairly bespoke products within theautomotiveandindustrialsector and they seek an experiencedCommercial or Managing Directortotake responsiblity for the complete strategic autonomy of the manufacturing business to include sales, operations, product development, and all other associated functions.Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic plan and budgets and assume full accountability for the implementation and review of policy and procedures in order to support company objectives.
  • Target and drive growth opportunities both organically and by acquisition in line with the business strategy.
  • Establish sales growth with existing customers by developing deeper relationships with a target driven sales team.
  • Identify and convert new sales opportunities to widen the customer base.
  • Identify new product / technology opportunities.
  • Lead a board of Director’s, build and maintain an effective management team.
  • Ensure control of business performance in terms of quality, delivery OTIF, safety, HR, financial management and risk management.
Experience Required:
  • Experience of working at a senior level within the automotive sector, offering a strong leniency to the commercial, sales and account management aspects of senior management.
  • Proven experience of leading a multi-disciplined team and managing change through translating organisational ambitions into real and measurable achievements.
  • Experience of creating, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders e.g. customers, suppliers and employees etc.
  • Experience of attending board meetings and presenting ideas and opinions.
  • A working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as SAP or Syspro, together with advanced skills in the full Microsoft suite.
  • An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and the basic principles of systems and improvement techniques such as SPC, FMEA, JIT, 6 Sigma, 5S, Kaizan and Kanban.
  • Experience and understanding of financial management.
  • A dynamic business leader that can manage and communicate with employees at all levels of the business.
  • A proven track record of successful corporate leadership within a manufacturing organisation including the formulation and delivery of corporate strategies, policies and objectives.
  • Experience of successfully establishing and sustaining a strong performance management culture that drives up standards and performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
  • A high level of tenaciousness with a sense of diplomacy and fairness. Approachable and engaging with a courteous and professional manner with high degree of respect for both equality and diversity and confidentiality
Benefits:Bonus: 30% maximum potentialCompany Car or Opt-out allowance £650 per monthPension: Employer contribution 9% on the basis that the individual contributes 4% minimum.Private Medical Insurance (family level cover)
