Job Description

Locality OfficerGeneral Needs HousingExeter36 Hours P/W3 month contract£17p/hOne of the UKs largest housing associations are recruiting for a Locality Officer to deliver professional tenancy sustainment and support services to residents across Exeter.The RoleThe focus of this Locality Officer role is to ensure housing residents have good homes and communities, working to create a positive environment for residents by managing and improving housing services, addressing issues, and collaborating with different teamsand local authorities. The Locality Officer focuses on treating everyone fairly (tenure blind) and use data and community input to make decisions and actively engage with the community to enhance the overall living experience. The role involves overseeingbudgets, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and constantly working towards making the neighborhood a better place for everyone.This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensure residents have quality homes and a positive living environment.
  • Manage and enhance housing services, addressing issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with teams and local authorities for community improvement.
  • Treat everyone fairly, regardless of their housing situation.
  • Use data and community input to guide decision-making.
  • Actively engage with the community to improve overall living experiences.
The CandidateTo be considered for this Locality Officer role, you will require previous housing support experience including:
  • Experience in managing housing services effectively.
  • Knowledge of tenancy, lease, and neighborhood approaches.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse teams and residents.
  • Operational thinking aligned with organizational goals.
  • Proven track record of community engagement and representation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in data management, compliance, and budget oversight.
As the role is working with vulnerable individuals, you will also require an Enhanced DBS check.The ContractThis is a full time Locality Officer role, working 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday.
