Job Description

Are you an experienced or Lead Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge, where you can be a part of meaningful change Join Pinhoe View in Devon and feel valued and support as you support people build a brighter future.Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will oversee service users assessments to identify and prioritise their needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions.With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload using evidence-based and people-focused principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual and group interventions.You will lead by example as you complete assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes of everyones care pathway, which will support the service users to develop their skills in self-maintenance, productivity and leisure.As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will create individual rapports to design, deliver and develop living skills, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities/therapies under the strategic direction of the Therapy Lead.With a strong emphasis on teamwork, youll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.Your responsibilitieswill include:

  • Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and encourage the service users to be fully engaged in their care pathway
  • Manage and co-ordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication by the occupational therapists.
  • Ensure the team maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patients rehabilitation / progress.
  • Ensures the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.
  • Contribute to business growth by actively promoting priory therapy services in line with the local units business plan.
  • Maintaining effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and purchasers throughout the patients rehabilitation
  • To support clinical team working, including both direct interventions and the delivery of staff training programmes
  • Attend any meetings called by the Therapy Lead, and will develop therapies (and make any changes to the therapy provision)
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together
  • Experience in assessing people with a variety of psychometrics and risk assessment tools
  • To be able to work therapeutically, engaging people in developing insight and coping skills to manage their complex needs
  • At least 3 years experience including at least 1 years experience of working within an inpatient mental health setting
  • One year experience of managing people
  • Experience in supervising and managing junior members of the team
  • Full and clean UK driving licence
  • At least 3 years experience, with at least 1 years experience of working within the specialised area i.e., Mental Health/PD services
