Job Description

Introduction/Job Overview:We are currently recruiting for 2 x Junior Web Developers to join a rapidly growing Exeter business who specialise in creating innovative websites for their clients. These are new roles to the business and will focus on either front end or backend development using PHP, HTML and Javascript.These roles are a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone who is self taught and looking to begin a career within development. Our client is also looking for more experienced Developers, so please do get in touch if this applies to you!Responsibilities:

  • Delivering specific aspects of projects; design, integration etc
  • Translation of designs to HTML/CSS that renders cross-browser and device (desktop, tablet and phone)
  • Configure, build and maintain WooCommerce/Wordpress sites
  • Troubleshoot any functionality, performance or feature issues
  • Theme development and customisation
  • Custom development through extensions
  • Content Migration from other eCommerce systems and bug fixing
    • Requirements:
  • WooCommerce and/or Magento development experience would be a distinct advanctage in either role but not essential as training will be provided
  • Version control e.g. GIT
  • Working knowledge of common extensions and plugins
  • Recognised platform certifications would be a distinct advantage
    • Front end:
  • Solid experience of the technology stack; HTML5, CSS3 (good to have LESS, SASS as well), JavaScript and required PHP skill for frontend development
  • Hands on server administration
    • Backend
  • Solid experience of the entire technology stack; PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScriptHands on server administration; Apache, MySQL, PHP, etc.
  • You should be capable of maintaining existing PHP code, optimising MySQL queries and improving solution performance
