Job Description

JUNIOR NETWORK ADMINISRATOR / EXETER - PERMANENT VACANCY Location: Sowton Industrial Estate, ExeterAssignment: Permanent contractReporting to: Group IT DirectorHours: Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pmSalary: £25,000 per annumHawk 3 Talent Solutions, acting as an employment, are currently recruiting for a Junior Network Administrator to join their IT Department at Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter on a permanent contract.Our clients IT Department is committed to building and maintaining sage, secure and efficient IT networks and application systems to promote the use of technology as being core to the organizations growth plans and sustainability.As a Junior Network Administrator, you will be assisting in ensuring that the companies internal IT platforms operate correctly across our multi-site operations - formal training will be provided to IT members where required.The position will be held at their site on Sowton Industrial Estate, but they do have exciting plans to move to a state of the art purpose build office and manufacturing facility at Skypark, near Exeter Airport early 2023.Duties as a Junior Network Administrator:

      Assist with the build, deployment and administration of the corporate network, servers (physical and virtual) and SANs.
Assist with the build, deployment and administration of desktop, mobile and peripheral hardware equipment.Assist with the delivery of client installation, configuration and technical support to 200 users over 9 sites plus home and field-based employees.Assist with the design and maintenance of MS-Windows Active Directory including profiles, security groups and Group Policies.Assist in ensuring a fully functional data backup and restore service is operational in line with user and business continuity requirements.Assist with the configuration and maintenance of network routing, switching and Wi-Fi hardware and all aspects of internal IT systems infrastructure.Assist with the management of external and WAN communications to ensure sufficient bandwidth and business continuity requirements are in place.Assist with the management of multiple firewall hardware units and security policies.Assist with the management of email services and external web connectivity.Assist with the management of our internal IP phone systems.Security of our systems is paramount and therefore system backups, anti-virus and malware procedures must be continued to be reviewed, tested and upgraded. Awareness of cyber threats and how to manage them is essential.Work closely with NIBE IT teams to ensure Group IT policies are continually checked and in place.Train end users to make appropriate and safe use of the IT infrastructure and ensure technical and help documentation is created and maintained.Maintain the IT Asset register of equipment, software licences and users.Assist other members of the IT Department with project objectives where required and ensure a clear and co-operative communication channel exists.Communicate effectively with internal customers and offer creative and forward thinking solutions where necessary.Source and manage external suppliers where appropriate to ensure a stable, trusted and cost effective working relationship.Provide cover for the Network Administrator when required.About you:
      A computer related degree or relevant professional certification and accreditation is preferred.
At least 3 years experience in a technical IT role maintaining secure networks in a MS-Windows environment in a multi-disciplined organisation. Ideally MS Certified.Knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems configuration & troubleshooting, TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, SSL, 2FA is essential for this position.SCCM/MECM skills would be advantageous.Knowledge of and experience in virtual network technologies, specifically ESXi and VMware configuration and administration is preferred.Knowledge of and experience in Veaam, CrowdStrike and Cortex XDR configuration and administration would be advantageous.Knowledge of and experience in LAN/WAN/VLAN communications, VPN configuration and enterprise wireless networking. Experience of HP and Cisco switches and routers with fibre is preferable. CCNA/CCNP accreditation advantageous.Firewall configuration, management and monitoring experience. Experience of Fortigate products preferable.Knowledge of IP telephony systems would be advantageous.Experience of Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint etc. - any MS E3 subscription services.Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, problem-solving and communication skills.A Proactive team player with the ability to take direction, assess and prioritise workloads, and self-manage support requests.ability to assess and prioritise workloads.Tolerance and determination with users of all abilities.Flexibility to work on planned, out of hours systems projects if required.A full, clean driving licence will be advantageous.Training is available for the right candidate to ensure complementary skills are acquired.Benefits:
