Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful, growing business as Interim Accounts Assistant on a 12 month FTC. The main purpose of the role is to support the accounts function, ensuring financial records are kept up to date and accurate, as well as assisting with the preparation of financial reports. Our client is looking for someone with an AAT qualification (or part qualified), excellent computer skills, and two or more years of general accounts experience.Responsibilities:

  • Support the accounts function on a daily basis
  • Ensure financial records are kept up to date and accurate
  • Assist with financial reports as required, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow for monthly management accounts
  • Undertake purchase ledger and sales ledger activities (such as processing invoices and expenses, monitoring payments etc)
  • Prepare reconciliations and analyse variances
  • Perform sundry finance analysis as required
  • Streamline/improve various processes and reports
  • Provide general support to the Finance Team
  • Requirements:
  • Two or more years of general accounts experience
  • AAT qualification or part qualified
  • Excellent computer skills, MS Excel in particular and ability to create charts using advanced formulas
  • A methodical and organised approach to work
  • Ability to effectively manage work load
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Experience in fluid hands-on environment, either in a start-up or in a fast-growing SME
