Job Description

Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting for Head of Planning in Exeter. The client is changing the way consumers and business access the digital world. With excellent investment and significant growth happening across the business they want great people to help them do great things.As the Head of Planning you will be playing a vital role in the future growth and decisions around how and where the business deploys its future network. Responsible for all Planning and GIS activity across the business you will be instrumental in the future success and performance of the business and the geographies served. Reporting directly to the COO, you’ll be joining at the start of a very fast paced and exciting growth phase of the business with lots to get stuck into.Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of operatives in delivering network planning activities and GIS requirements.
  • Take responsibility for end-to-end high level network design and creation
  • Perform QA and sign off across team planning activities
  • Work closely with Head of Wayleave and regional build managers to ensure effective and efficient planning and delivery
  • Keep up to date with evolving Openreach PIA requirements
  • Optimising traditional design with PIA opportunities including use of Poles
  • Develop and manage reporting funnel with the COO for business wide and board reporting
    • Requirements:
  • Have experience in and be a proficient user of GIS tools
  • Direct experience and applicable knowledge on PON planning in underground and overhead delivery
  • Be a leader and a team player and have a structured and focused approach to delivering to deadlines and requirements
  • Be a Decisive Thinker and able to analyse information quickly and use it to make robust decisions.
  • Build a team of 6 planners/GIS operatives to help you deliver on the planning requirements
  • Be analytical, solution oriented and able to deal with a fast moving and multicultural environment
