An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Dosimetrist to join the Radiotherapy Physics team at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be a proven Dosimetrist, with experience of radiotherapy treatment planning.The successful candidate will have specialist knowledge of radiotherapy treatment machines, dosimetry and treatment planning systems (ideally) including Varian-Eclipse, IMRT/VMAT and IGRT and will be HCPC registered.Duties will involve generating 3D computer-based radiotherapy treatment plans, manipulating three dimensional CT, MRI, PET and radiation dose images using IT equipment and software as well as preparing and verifying radiotherapy treatment plans and supporting the efficient execution of the radiotherapy workflow.There is also an element of tutoring in the role, where the post holder will be expected to help tutor less experienced Dosimetry staff, as well as help to train any future radiotherapy dosimetrists recruited to the Trust.The post requires a methodical approach and high standards of workmanship. A sound knowledge of Quality Control procedures and tolerances for treatment machines and planning systems is essential.Our Oncology Centre currently houses two matched Varian iX LINACs, a Varian TrueBeam, a Toshiba Wide Bore CT scanner and Eclipse planning system to support the planning and delivery of external beam treatment. All linear accelerators are multimodality, dual energy and have CBCT capabilities. We also have access to FFF, jaw tracking and 6DOF on the Varian TrueBeam. The department also has well-established IMRT and SABR programmes.We welcome applications from those interested in a full time or part time position.
