Job Description

Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager in Exeter. The client is changing the way consumers and business access the digital world. They are on a mission to connect 100,000’s of properties across the UK to the 21st century. With excellent investment and significant growth happening across the business they want great people to help them do great things.You will have experience in a telecoms environment ideally and be at home identifying, engaging and managing contractors to build high value networks. The focus will be around the contractual aspects of managing external contractors and experience with contractors working on streetworks and/or civil engineering would be ideal.Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for appointment and engagement of suppliers in delivering value for money, compliance and resilience
  • Accountable for the development and delivery of a strategic category plan for spend considering the markets we operate within, stakeholder requirements, business priorities and the risks and issues
  • Sourcing new and innovative suppliers and solutions from suppliers to business challenges, on boarding supplier through robust competitions, establishing well negotiated agreements and appropriate due diligence.
  • Negotiation of agreements, service levels that ensure maximum value and compliance with legal and any business development requirements.
  • Implement a structured supply chain of suppliers and manage these within the marketplace to support business growth and development opportunity.
  • Work closely with the sales organisation on commercial bids and adherence to terms within
  • Provide strategic and commercial input into on-going contract management with suppliers, develop and provide a context for supplier collaboration & innovation
  • Development of suppliers through performance review, audit and training.
  • Be a Decisive Thinker and able to analyse information quickly and use it to make robust decisions.
  • Be accountable for effective influencing of stakeholders ensuring a stakeholder management plan is in place and is delivered, with appropriate governance, consultation and prioritisation.
  • Provision of excellent commercial advice to the business in relation to procurement and supply chain activities, with accompanying solutions.
  • Preferably have direct experience/exposure in a telecoms based business
  • Track record of continuous improvement in value and cost Understanding of the use and value of services within civils/contractors ideally within the telecoms arena.
  • Analytical, solution oriented and able to deal with a fast moving and multicultural environment
  • Requirements:
  • 4 + years experience in a senior commercial and procurement role with evidence of supplier control and management
  • Negotiation Skills & Experience Contract Management Skills
  • Experience Analytical Skills Financial Acumen MCIPS qualification or purchasing degree LPC or BVC
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong academics and demonstrable experience working under pressure in a fast-paced role
  • Excellent commercial and business awareness
