Job Description

Atlantis Medical is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our client in Essex to assist and support their team in an accute enviroment.You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and must have excellent organisational and time management skills.Skills / Abilities

Experience
  • A minimum of 4 years post-graduation experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years at Band 6 level with experience of working in hand therapy to include the manufacture of appropriate splints.
  • Supervision of more junior therapy staff, students and/or assistants.
Knowledge
  • Highly specialist current knowledge and skills relating to the management of hand conditions, demonstrated by expert clinical reasoning.
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development including evidence based practice and research developments.
  • An understanding of the changes within the NHS and possible effects on hand therapy services.
  • Robust understanding of all aspects of clinical governance including previous experience of quality issues, audit and risk management.
Qualifications
  • HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
  • Grad. Diploma and / or degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of post-graduate training / development courses relevant to hand therapy.
  • Commitment to advanced clinical and professional development.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to participate in additional training as required
Desirable
  • Band 7 experience in Hand Therapy
  • Working towards post-graduate qualification
  • Proven clinical leadership ability
  • Experience of teaching post graduate and undergraduate students
  • Service provision audit leading to change
  • Member of the RCOT/CSP or equivalent
  • Member of the British Association of Hand Therapists
Confidence in teaching multi-disciplinary staff groups.

Keyskills :
Acute OT experienceMoving and Handling.
